I forgot to post the last day of the trip
Which was a stunning one. We went to the markets at Redcliffe and had a shop at North Lakes before it was time to say bye to Dave and Mel. Luckily, this is just temporary though as they are coming home for a holiday at Christmas! Yah!

Soggy Queensland
We had a couple of soggy days but still quite warm. We went up to the Hinterland to explore the boutique little town centres of Maleny and Montville and today, took the train into the city.

Putt putting in the sunshine
Dave and Mel joined us today - public holiday in Queensland for their annual Ekka show day. We didn't go to the show, however, but headed up north again to Top Shots putt putt park and Maroochydore beach where we had a very yummy lunch at the beach street deli. We meandered around the shops then headed back south stopping at the quirky Ettamorgah pub and shops. We so stopped in at the Costco warehouse before heading home. Mel made a delicious Mexican Taco dish for dinner.

Crickey!
Went to the Australian Zoo today and saw the evidence of Steve Irwin's passion! Awesome. Met lots of the locals and had a ride on a camel :-)

Cruising round the burbs
We had a quiet day today, exploring some of the suburbs North East of the city. Had lunch at a cute place with iconic verandas common on most of the properties around this area - obviously an essential feature of the older homes when air conditioning units were not invented! The sun shone and it was another lazy summer day for us two kiwis visiting from the winter wonderland that is Wellington at this time of year!

After a lovely lazy lie-in, we hit the road North to visit the Ginger Factory, Nutworks, the castle at Bli Bli and Mooloolaba Beach.

August in Brisbane
Day 1 of a 10 day holiday in Brisbane to see Dave and Mel. Today we headed to Mt Coot tha to gain some perspective of the land, then meandered through the Botanic Gardens. We visited the biggest mall I have ever been in where its possible to get lost by taking the wrong turn when exiting the loos! Dinner was a delectable mix of many flavours at the Eat Street Markets! Yum
