We took the Eurostar from Kings Cross Pancreas (yes, I checked out platform 93/4 once again, as well as the Harry Potter shop), to Paris. Being four of us we got the best seats in the house, bar 1st class, so we sat opposite each other and shared a table, snacking on salads and yummy food from Pret-a-manger, and drinking wine (Kelly) and Coffee (Toni) from the dining carriage.
We were joined by a very rowdy bunch of Celtic supporters on the train – they had delayed it too and received a special mention by the intercom about behaviour and allowing others to also enjoy the ride. Ha.
We stayed in Montmartre and used the metro system as well as Uber, and mostly our feet to explore the city. In our three days there we managed to see a fair bit!

At the Fontaine des Mers we had a need to use the loo and went down the steps to the public ones. One sniff and we scarpered out of there and instead headed desperately over to the Hotel de Crillion. This was a very posh hotel with security and greeting staff on entrance. I was hoping Kelly could do her cute charming act to get us in but there was no need. They simply greeted us with "Bonjour Madame" and opened the door for us. What a difference. The loos were bigger than our hotel room and exquisitely fine so we had a good change to freshen up as well as relief ourselves.

We were tempted to stop for tea and try one of these delights. However the cost was from 11 Euros for the tea alone (up to 23 Euros a cup) and from 16 Euros for one of these). So we just took a photo or two!
