More of England's coast and a little bit inland

The rest of our exploration into Dad's past included Hythe and a place "in the middle of nowhere" called Mayfield where he went to college. We also visited Brighton, Portsmouth, and the white cliffs of Dover.
A wee place called Arundel which we passed on the way

The seafront

I did a search online and sure enough, this was the wee building that held the Midland Bank that Dad worked at when he lived here.

Portsmouth

The old war relics

The seafront with the huge war memorial

A bit of modern architecture

The architect in training

Looking up at the steeple

The wee town of Mayfield

The countryside. So pretty.

Dover

We both wanted to see the white cliffs of Dover and they didn't disappoint. We went for a walk out to see the lighthouse. It was pretty steep by the cliff edge. Don't look down Barry!
Sitting close, but not too close, to the edge

A looong way down

Tea and poppy seed flapjack at the lighthouse

Wild horses I think. They looked very healthy and happy.

A clever 'Banksy' at Dover
