Galway and my birthday present

We went to Claddagh in Galway and got a December birthstone Claddagh ring for me for my birthday. It was good to find out the history behind it. The original maker of the ring as we know it (the hands, the heart, and the crown) learned his craft as a slave from a Moorish Goldsmith and when he was finally released from captivity, he brought the craft home to Claddagh in Galway.
Galway was buzzing. It was miserable weather but people were out and about, groups were singing Christmas carols, shops were busy, cafes everywhere.
Cool city.
