Cross-country skiing

We had an amazing day today, cross country skiing, Lappland style. There are some 230km of maintained cross country skiing tracks here in Levi, but we only skied 13 of them. That was enough for us newby's. Even with three rest stops at two of the many Lappish cafes and restaurants along the routes, us two kiwis were shattered by the end.
We ended the day by toasting sausages and eating jam and rice cakes around the fire hut before having our daily sauna and shower. I think Barry is flaked out in bed already.
Here are some of the photos we took today.

Our hosts. They live nearby and set this cafe up every winter.

Tea with pancake and cloudberry jam. Very yum

Barry taking time to get up after one fall too many. Cross country skiing is very different to what we are used to!

Miles and miles of track
